On November 4, 2015, Chinese Deputy Consul General to San Francisco Ren Faqiang paid a working visit to the Institute of East Asian Studies and the East Asian Library of UC Berkeley.

During the visit, Deputy Consul General Ren met with Kevin O'Brien, Director of Institute of East Asian Studies and Peter Zhou, Director of East Asian Library and discussed with them how to strengthen academic exchanges and cooperation between Chinese and US universities and think tanks.
