Consul General Luo Linquan Attends the Chinese New Year Parade

On February 11, 2017, Chinese Consul General to San Francisco Luo Linquan and his wife Mme. Qiao Li attended the annual Chinese New Year Parade in San Francisco, to celebrate the coming of spring and the Lantern Festival together with Mayor of San Francisco Edwin Lee and his wife Mme.Anita Lee, Mayor of Oakland Libby Schaaf, California State Senator Scott Wiener, Assemblymembers Phil Ting and David Chiu, Supervisors of San Francisco and local residents.

Consul General Luo wished the Californian and San Francisco people a very prosperous Chinese New Year and happy Lantern Festival in his remarks at the venue. He also wished a greater development for the China-US relations in the coming year.

More than one hundred floats representing governmental agencies and social groups from San Francisco and other cities in the Bay Area paraded along the roads in downtown San Francisco, and performed dragon and lion dances, martial arts, dances and musical instruments in the marching, which attracted about 1.2 million people to the scene. The whole event was full of happiness and fun with fireworks going off here and there and Chinese Gongs and Drums beating boisterously.
