Chinese Consulate General in San Francisco holds Multinational Executives Dinner

On April 5, 2016, Chinese Consul General to San Francisco Luo Linquan held Multinational Executives Dinner at his residence in San Francisco. The dinner was attended by more than 30 famous American multinational high level executives, Chamber leaders as well as local government officials, including but not limited to Mr. Ed Lee, Mayor of San Francisco; Mr. Jim Wunderman, President of Bay Area Council; Mr. Gary Dickerson, CEO of Applied Materials; Mr. Ken Wilcox, President of Silicon Valley Bank; Mr. Alan Siqueira, EVP of Wells Fargo; Mr. Andy Sherman, EVP of Dolby; Mr. Ed Baker, VP of Uber; Ms. Susanne Stirling, Vice President of CalChamber. Deputy Consul General Mr. Ren Faqiang played the role as moderator. Economic and Commercial Counselor Mr. Yang Yihang made a brief introduction on potential cooperation between the Consulate and multinational corporations.

In his remark, Consul General Luo extend his warm welcome to all distinguished guests. He highlighted Chinese President Xi Jinping’s successful state visit to the U.S last September and the recent bilateral meeting between President Xi and President Obama in Washington D.C. last week, pointed out that the prospering bilateral business cooperation participated by American and Chinese multinational corporations is the foundation to build a new model of major country relations between China and the U.S.. He said that the Chinese Consulate General in San Francisco is willing to work with multinational executives as well as Chamber leaders to deepen bilateral economic and trade relations as always.

Attendees appreciated the invitation of Consul General Luo as well as the effort of Chinese government in promoting bilateral business cooperation. They said, from their perspectives, the huge and rapidly increasing Chinese market brings incredible opportunities to American multinational enterprises, whose development outlook in Chinese market as well as the future of overall Chinese economy are stable and bright; they are delighted to strengthen cooperation with Chinese Consulate General in San Francisco, to further promote the healthy and stable development of bilateral economic and trade relationship.
