Chinese Consul General Gao Zhansheng Delivers Chinese New Year Message

Chinese Consul General in San Francisco Gao Zhansheng delivered a Chinese New Year Message via Bay Area media outlets on January 24.

Wishing his consular district's Chinese communities, businesses and students a happy New Year of the Snake, Gao said that the year 2012 has seen remarkable achievements in China's reform and opening up as well as its modernization strive.

"2012 is a year that has historical implications for the country's future path for development. The 18th CPC National Congress and the first plenum of the 18th CPC Central Committee held in last November outlined a blueprint for China to complete the building of a moderately prosperous society and deepen reform and opening up," Gao commented.

On the China-US relationship, Gao said, "We have seen the continued and stable development of China-US ties last year, with expanded and deepened exchanges and collaborations in almost all areas. Vice President Xi Jinping's successful visit to the U.S. served as a big boost to our ties".

He encouraged the Chinese communities, businesses and students to make even bigger contribution to the growth of China-US relations and China's development in the New Year.

"My associates and I will, as always, do everything we can to offer good service," Gao pledged.
