Qatari Crown Prince Meets with Chinese Vice Foreign Minister

On November 10, 2009, Qatari Crown Prince Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani met in the Emir's Palace, Doha with Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Song Tao, who heads a Chinese delegation attending the third session of the Conference of the States Parties to the United Nations Convention Against Corruption (UNCAC). Both sides exchanged views on further developing bilateral ties and enhancing cooperation in anti-corruption and other areas.

Qatari Crown Prince Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani said Qatar has always attached great importance to the friendly ties with China and will continue to support China on issues concerning China's core interests. He said Qatar is willing to work together with China to enhance bilateral cooperation and exchanges in such fields as economy, energy, culture and education.

For his part, Song said China and Qatar have witnessed increased high-level visits, enhanced political trust and comprehensive cooperation in various sectors. China is ready to further expand bilateral trade cooperation and personnel exchanges based on equality and mutual benefit and bring the friendly cooperative ties between the two countries to a new high, said Song.
