Wen Jiabao Leaves Sharm el-Sheikh for Home after Concluding Visit to Egypt

On the evening of November 8, 2009, Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao left Sharm el-Sheikh for home by special plane after his official visit to Egypt and attendance of the opening ceremony of the fourth ministerial meeting of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation.

During his visit to Egypt, Premier Wen met with Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, exchanging views on China-Egypt relations, China-Africa and China-Arab ties as well as international and regional issues of common concern. In his stay in Cairo, Wen also met with Secretary-General of the League of Arab States (LAS) Amr Moussa and delivered a speech at the Headquarters of the LAS. Wen also visited Huawei Middle East and North Africa training center and Brilliance Auto's plant in Egypt and inspected the Chinese Culture Center in Cairo. He encouraged reputable and competent Chinese businesses to invest in Africa.

During his stay in Sharm el-Sheikh, Wen attended the Third Conference of Chinese and African Entrepreneurs. He also attended and addressed the opening ceremony of the 4th Ministerial Meeting of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation. At the opening ceremony, Wen proposed eight new measures on China-Africa cooperation for the next three years. Wen also met with some African leaders and held a press conference, answering questions from the journalists on China-Africa relations, China's foreign policy and his current Africa tour.
