Vice Foreign Minister Wang Guangya Meets with James Mugume, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uganda

On October 9, 2009, Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Wang Guangya met with James Mugume, visiting permanent secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uganda.

Wang made positive comments on bilateral cooperation in all areas, saying that China attaches importance to ties with Uganda and is ready to further advance bilateral mutually beneficial cooperation in political, economic, trade and other areas and push their friendly cooperative relations to a higher level.

Mugume said that the Uganda-China relationship is on a correct track of development and bilateral friendly cooperation has scored fruitful results. Uganda attaches importance to China's increasing international influence and hopes to strengthen cooperation with China in international and regional affairs.

Both sides also exchanged views on the African situation and China-Africa relations.

The delegation arrived in Beijing on October 8 to attend the political consultation between the two Foreign Ministries.
