On the afternoon of October 9, 2009, Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi met with Japanese Foreign Minister Katsuya Okada in Beijing. They exchanged views on international and regional issues including the situation of the Korean Peninsula and East Asian cooperation.

Foreign Minister Katsuya Okada is accompanying Japanese Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama here to attend the second trilateral leaders' meeting of China, Japan and the Republic of Korea (ROK).
