On September 22, 2009, Vice Foreign Minister Li Jinzhang met with Mohammed, visiting Chairman of the United Nations Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD). Li expressed admiration on the important role of Mohammed and the CRPD in monitoring the execution of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and promoting its implementation. China expects to further strengthen cooperation with the CRPD in order to contribute more to the cause for the disabled. Mohammed spoke highly of China's achievements in advancing the undertaking for people with disabilities, saying that the CRPD is willing to reinforce cooperation with China to push forward the development of the international undertaking for persons with disabilities.
