2009/07/03

On July 3, 2009, Song Tao, a leader from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, met and hosted the visiting delegation of the Philippine Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCCI) at Diaoyutai State Guesthouse.

Song briefed the guests on the developments of China's domestic situation and highly recognized the work done by PCCCI in promoting bilateral friendly relations and economic and trade cooperation between China and the Philippines based upon its own unique advantages. Song said that economic and trade relations between China and the Philippines are highly complementary and PCCCI can play a big role in this regard. Song thanked the Filipino-Chinese communities for their care for and support to China. “I hope the Filipino-Chinese communities can work together to build a harmonious Filipino-Chinese community and continue to carry forward the fine tradition of the “Three Treasures” (barrio schools, fire fighters volunteer troupes and medical missions are considered as of the “Three Treasures” of the Chinese community), set store by giving back to the local community, live in harmony with the local people, and promote the continuous development of friendly relations between the two countries.”

The PCCCI delegation thanked Song for taking the time to meet with them. They said they would, as always, do more work to promote friendly relations between the two countries.
