Li Keqiang Meets with Chairman of the Moldovan Parliament Lupu

On October 22, 2008, Chinese Vice Premier Li Keqiang met with Chairman of the Moldovan Parliament Marian Lupu at the Great Hall of the People.

Li said bilateral ties have maintained a sound momentum of development with frequent high-level visits and increasing political trust. The sound political ties have pushed for the sustained development of economic and trade ties. Both sides have given active play to the complementary advantages of economic and trade cooperation, continuously expanded the common interest and gradually improved the level of economic and technological cooperation with the trade volume increasing year after year. Facts prove that to consolidate and develop China-Moldova friendly cooperative relations conform to the fundamental interests of the two countries and their peoples. China is ready to work with Moldova to strengthen pragmatic cooperation in all areas and continuously push forward the China-Moldova comprehensive friendly cooperative relations. Li expressed appreciation and gratitude for Moldova’s precious support on key issues concerning China’s core interests.

Lupu thanked for China’s long-term disinterested assistance to his country. He said it is a strong aspiration of Moldovan people from all walks of life to actively develop ties with China and push forward bilateral friendly cooperation. The Moldovan parliament will make even greater contributions to bilateral practical cooperation in the economic and technological areas.
