On July 14, Chinese Assistant Foreign Minister He Yafei met with a visiting delegation of young party leaders from Nepal. He expressed welcome for the visit by the delegation of young party leaders from Nepal, saying that China and Nepal are neighbors linked by mountains and rivers and the two peoples enjoy friendly exchanges which date back to ancient times. China thanks for Nepal's persistent support on the issues concerning Dalai and Taiwan, he said, noting that China is ready to work with Nepal to further advance cooperation in all fields and exchange development experience to achieve common development. Youth are the future of the society and are also the future of the relations between the two countries. He expressed hope that the young people in the two countries will strengthen exchanges, build understanding and make positive contributions to the China-Nepal friendship cause. He said China welcomes the positive progress that Nepal has scored in its peace process and sincerely hopes Nepal will continue to maintain political stability, economic growth and national unity. China is ready to offer as always assistance within its ability for Nepal's development process.
He also briefed on Beijing's preparations for the Olympic Games and welcomed Nepali friends to come to China for the games. The chairman of Nepal-China Youth Friendship Association, also head of the delegation, expressed sincere gratitude for China's strong support and assistance to Nepal. Nepal is ready to learn development experience from China and enhance exchanges and cooperation in economy, trade and other areas, he said. Nepal will continue to adhere to the one-China policy and will never allow the "Dalai clique" to engage in anti-China activities in Nepal.
