In order to build mutual understanding and cooperation among the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) members, observers and countries that have established cooperative relations with the SCO, Chinese Assistant Foreign Minister Li Hui invited the ambassadors and diplomats of these countries in China to a meeting of SCO Ambassadors' Club and other activities from January 17 to 18, 2008.

Li and foreign diplomats spoke highly of the achievements made by the SCO in 2007 and exchanged in-depth views on implementing the Treaty on Long-term Good-neighborliness, Friendship and Cooperation and completing the work of the SCO in 2008. All parties agreed to strengthen communication and coordination, further deepen security, economic and humanistic cooperation within the SCO framework and actively conduct foreign exchanges, so as to promote regional stability and common development.
