On December 27, 2007, Chinese Assistant Foreign Minister Li Hui met with visiting Tajik Deputy Foreign Minister Abdullo Yuldoshev, who is here for the meeting of national coordinators of SCO member states. Both sides exchanged views on bilateral ties, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and other issues of common concern. During the meeting, Li made positive comments on the important achievements scored in bilateral ties over the past year, pointing to the treaty on good-neighborly friendship and cooperation signed between both sides during President Emomalii Rahmon's successful visit to China this January. President Hu Jintao and his Tajik counterpart Rahmon held a bilateral meeting on the sidelines of the SCO summit in Bishkek in August, which helped push forward bilateral ties. China is ready to make joint efforts with Tajikistan to earnestly implement various agreements reached by the two heads of state and advance mutually beneficial cooperation on politics, economy, trade and humanities in a comprehensive manner. Yuldoshev said Tajikistan deems the ties with China a priority of its foreign policy and supports China's position on the issues related to Taiwan, Tibet and the cracking down on East Turkistan terrorist forces. Tajikistan is ready to continuously deepen cooperation with China in bilateral and SCO frameworks to contribute to peace, stability and development of Tajikistan, China, and the region as a whole. |
