Consul General Luo Linquan meets Dr.Ching-sen Yeung

On June 14, 2016, Chinese Consul General Luo Linquan met Dr. Ching-sen Yeung, a Chinese American who is in his 90s and has been dedicated to the friendly exchanges between China and the US for a long time.

Luo spoke highly of Yeung's efforts of promoting cooperation between China and the US, especially in the field of education. Luo also wished Yeung a happy healthy long life. Yeung vowed to make restless efforts to contribute to the development of China.

From 1996 and 2004 Yeung served as commissioner from California on the Education Commission of the States. Not long after China carried out the reform and opening-up policy, Yeung recruited his students to teach English in China. Yeung also helped to bridge the cooperation between US NGOs and China. He assisted Alliance for Smiles, a NGO providing free comprehensive treatment for cleft lip and palate anomalies, to work in China. He also linked Rotary 5160 District with Chinese Consulate General after the 2008 earthquake in western China,paving the way for Rotary to send its tents to the homeless in China.
