Chinese Consul General to San Francisco Luo Linquan meets Speaker of California State Assembly

On January 14, 2015, Chinese Consul General to San Francisco Luo Linquan paid a courtesy visit to Toni Atkins, Speaker of the California State Assembly, and exchanged views with her on China-California cooperation.

Consul General Luo Linquan said that California played a very important role in the development of China-U.S. relations. "For years, California has maintained one of the biggest exporters to China among all the 50 States", remarked him, "in 2013, the trade volume between China and California reached 146.7 billion dollars, accounting for 26% of China-U.S. total." Luo expressed his sincere wish that the Speaker could continue offer her support to cooperation of the two sides in all fields.

Speaker Atkins said that the California State Assembly fully understands the importance of China-California relations. She expressed her appreciation for the progress made in various aspects of bilateral relations and remarked that this relationship will have full support from the California State Assembly.

Assemblyman Das Williams, Chairman of Asia and Pacific Islander Legislative Caucus and Assemblyman Phil Ting were also present.
