In his speech, Consul General Wang emphasized that The 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China has drawn a grand blueprint for building a moderately prosperous society in all aspects and building a socialist modernized country. It specified the basic strategy for realizing the "two centenary" goals and defined the orientation of China's development in a new era. Wang introduced the progress of Belt and Road Initiaive made in the last 5 years and pointed out that more and more companies and capital from the US have been paticipating in the Initiative, and they have enjoyed tangible benefits as shown by the increased exports and jobs created.

He said that the next year will mark the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and the United States. Since the establishment of diplomatic relations, the two countries have promoted exchanges and cooperation in all aspects in accordance with the principles of mutual respect, equality and mutual benefit, and brought enormous benefits to the two peoples. At present, China-US relations are facing difficulties and the trade war is constantly escalating. This unilateralism and protectionist approach will result in no winners, and will heavily hit the global industrial chain, as well as seriously hurt the interests of enterprises and the general public in many countries including the US. To end this trade war as soon as possible is in the fundamental interests of the two peoples and is most conducive to the long-term development of the bilateral relations.

Wang also pointed out that The California State Assembly passed Assembly Joint Resolution No.44 (AJR44) last month, supporting California in strengthening cooperation with China in the areas of people-to-people exchange, trade, climate change, education, tourism, technology, innovation, and green development. This reflects the strong desire of the Californian people to strengthen cooperation with China.
