Consul General Luo Linquan Attends the Chinese Lunar New Year Celebration in the City of Sonoma

On January 29, 2017, Chinese Consul General to San Francisco Luo Linquan visited the City of Sonoma,CA, a place famous for its wineries in the Bay Area. Consul General Luo celebrated the Chinese Lunar New Year of the Rooster with Mayor Hundley, people from varous fields, as well as representatives of overseas Chinese and Chinese compatriots from the region.

Consul General Luo extended New Year greetings to the residents of Sonoma, introduced the Sino-US relations, especially the accomplishments of cooperation between China and the consular district of the Consulate in the past year. He wished more concrete progress would be achieved through the exchanges and cooperation between the two sides in the Year of the Rooster. Consul General Luo also accepted the interview by local media at the venue.

The Chinese community groups in Sonoma performed traditional Chinese dragon and lion dance, drums and chorus. A local American opera singer sang Chinese popular songs in Chinese.

As a neighbour city to San Francisco, Sonoma is famous for its wine industry in the Bay Area in California, and is also a sister city of Penglai in Shan Dong Province of China.
