Deputy Consul General Ren at Oregon State Senate

At the invitation of the Oregon State Legislature Oregon-China Sister State Committee, Deputy Chinese Consul General to San Francisco Ren Faqiang paid a visit to the State of Oregon from December 13 to December 15, 2016. During his visit, he attended and made remarks at the Committee’s annual meeting, met with Oregon’s State of Secretary Elect Dennis Richardson, and attended the State Senate’s fare-well ceremony for retiring senators.

During his visit, Deputy Consul General Ren introduced the progress with China-US relations, especially cooperation between China and the State of Oregon; expressed appreciation towards long-term efforts made by Oregon Legislature and Mr. Richardson toward stronger Oregon-China cooperation; pointed out the great potentials for cooperation between China and Oregon in various fields including trade, agriculture and cultural exchanges; stressed the willingness of the Chinese Consulate General in San Francisco to work together with Oregonian friends to further promote China-US relations. Mr. Richardson and members of the State Legislature expressed belief that a better relationship with China is in the interest of Oregon and the U.S., and they will keep on working at this direction.
