Deputy Consul General Ren Faqiang Attends UA SFO-Hangzhou Nonstop Flight Inaugural Celebration

On July 13, 2016, Deputy Consul General Ren Faqiang attended the Inaugural Celebration of United Airlines San Francisco-Hangzhou Nonstop Flight at San Francisco International Airport. Representatives from the City and County of San Francisco, United Airlines and San Francisco International Airport attended the ceremony.

Deputy Consul General Ren extended congratulation to UA for the new flight to China. He said that in recent years, airlines in China and United States keep opening new direct routes between the two countries. Besides top tier cities, direct routes have been extended to several second tier cities in China as a result of strong demands. Over 13 thousand passengers are traveling across the Pacific each day. In 2016, the China-U.S. Tourism Year will strongly boost people to people communication and more than 5 million tourists are expected to travel between the two countries. The new direct flight connecting San Francisco and Hangzhou will not only make the two beautiful tourist cities closer but also narrow the timing distance between the Silicon Valley and the newly rising innovation center in China, which will definitely promote mutually beneficial cooperation between the two cities and two countries.
